Enviroment Formative

Steampunk Jail House

First project for the year!!!. We were goiven the brife which told us your limitations for this model. It had to be in a steampunk/ sci fi envimoent , it had to be an enviment model, it was also only allowed 2.5k Poly faces..... 2.5K!!!! thats nothing . last year we never had a poly limit. this is Cray. Hasnt part was staying within thta poly limit. I got mine 1k over the limit which i thought was pretty awesome.Also on the brife was this map called a normal map??? WHats a normal map. David showed us what one was but then took that part out of the brife as we had never done anything with normals before.
I really enjoy working on this ... it was fun to create something steam punk . I modelled it within maya, textured in photoshop and attempted to create a spec.

Changes 
After finding out that the poly count on the brief isn't polygons its tris i came back and re did my models tri count and got it down o 2.8k limit was 2.5k I also got feedback from David which said my textures were too blurred so i re did my textures which i think come out a lot better the 2nd time round. I also re did my uv maps to create more space to create more detailed textures
